White-label Looker Studio report templates for agencies
Clients judge an agency partly by its reports. A white-label Looker Studio (now Data Studio) report carries your logo and colors, shows only that client’s data, and looks the same every month. This guide explains how to set that up without paying for a connector, and where a template saves you hours.
What “white-label” means in Looker Studio
Looker Studio has no “white-label mode”. White-labelling is a set of choices:
- Your branding: logo image, theme colors and fonts set in Theme and layout.
- No third-party branding: native Google connectors leave no vendor watermark; many paid connectors add their name to data sources.
- A client-specific view: each client sees only their account, either through a separate copy or a locked filter.
- Your domain links: share links from your agency Google account, and link to your own site from the report footer.
Three ways to structure client reports
| Approach | Pros | Cons |
|---|---|---|
| One copy per client | Simple, fully isolated | Template changes must be repeated per copy |
| One report + data control | One file to maintain | Viewers need access to the data source |
| MCC roll-up + per-client page | Agency overview and client pages in one place | Needs a careful permission setup |
For most small agencies, one copy per client from a master template is the safest. Keep the master file clean, and re-copy it when you make big changes.
Step-by-step setup
- Build or pick a master template. Start from our free Google Ads template or GA4 template.
- Set the theme. Theme and layout → Customize: set primary color, fonts and chart palette to your brand.
- Add a header block with your logo, the client name (a text box), and the reporting period.
- Make a copy per client and connect that client’s Google Ads account or GA4 property.
- Choose credentials carefully. Owner’s credentials lets the client view without access to the ad account; Viewer’s credentials requires them to have access.
- Share as viewer only, and turn off “Allow viewers to download, print and copy” if you want.
- Schedule email delivery (Share → Schedule delivery) for a monthly PDF.
Add an agency roll-up
Agency leads want one page comparing all clients. Google’s Google Ads connector can read a manager (MCC) account with up to 50 sub-accounts per data source; add an Account name dimension to a table and you have a roll-up. For GA4, blend up to 5 properties per blend. Read more in our GA4 + Google Ads combined dashboard guide.
Common mistakes
- Sharing a report built on viewer’s credentials with clients who have no ad account access — they see errors.
- Mixing “Conversions” and “All conv.” between pages.
- Leaving your test account in a data control default.
- Forgetting the date range comparison, so clients ask “is that good?”.
